ISSP Masterclass - Latvia 2015

I have recently returned from a fantastic week-long workshop in Latvia as part of the ISSP Masterclass with Aaron Schuman.

As well as having opportunities to present our portfolios and project ideas for the upcoming year, we also had the opportunity to create new work as part of an exercise, responding photographically to a fellow artists' 'Labyrinth'. The week culminated in a group show at Kuldiga Art House where we exhibited our work made from this first week.

ISSP Masterclass, group exhibition at Kuldiga Art House, Saturday 21st March.

Exhibiting next to the work of Krzysztof SzewczykTerje Abusdal. My partner was Ossi Piispanen.

Heading to Latvia!

Heading to Latvia!

I am delighted to have recently been selected to participate in the 2015/16 ISSP International Masterclass with Aaron Schuman, "Labyrinths: Navigating Photographic Paths".

I will be heading to Latvia on 14th March 2015 for the 1st of three workshops in Kuldiga, Latvia and Braga, Portugal.

Over the course of a year, I will be making a new body of photographic work that will in some way investigate, incorporate, or be influenced by the idea of the labyrinth; a single, complex path that turns in and out on itself.

I look forward to sharing more information and initial works from the project shortly!

Uncertain States Issue 20

I am extremely pleased that Disposable is now in print, accompanying the current issue of Uncertain States I Open Call & Issue 20.

Disposable is a collaborative project that started in 2012, involving people experiencing homelessness in London. Using photography as a means for expression and articulation I worked closely with 3 artists over the period of a year to develop a significant body of original photographic works.

Disposable Exhibition at Ziferblat

Disposable Exhibition at Ziferblat

I am really pleased to bring Disposable to it's 3rd exhibition, this time at Ziferblat London*. This exhibition brings together the works of Bill Wood, R.O.L and Spike Aston. The photographs were taken between September 2012 and October 2013 with disposable cameras.

Disposable is a photography project working with people who are affected by homelessness in Central London.  The essence of the Disposable project is collaborating with others and building a community. This ethos is echoed in its current exhibition space at Ziferblat* London, a social co-working space.

I will be at Ziferblat London for the duration of the exhibition and I ask you to join me and collaborate with me, through conversation, in turning Disposable into an artist’s book to share with the wider community.

To find out the times when I will be working please contact a member of staff at Ziferblat or contact me directly:

The exhibition is now open until 8 September. Open daily from 12pm - 11pm.

*Ziferblat is a pay-per-minute space at a rate of 5p per minute (£3 an hour).

Disposable’s first exhibition took place at GLO’s outreach venue in Soho in April 2013, followed by a pivotal exhibition at Four Corners Gallery, Bethnal Green in October 2013.

Untitled from the series Our Sweet English Rose

I will be exhibiting again in Labyrinth Photographic's annual exhibition 'A Year in Development'!

Back for its third year running, this popular exhibition is a representation of the continued, diverse and expanding use of analogue photography realised through the art and craftsmanship of hand printing.

The show will be running from the 4th April - 2nd May 2014 at Four Corners Gallery, Bethnal Green. Private view, 3rd April 6:30pm!
I look forward to seeing you there
